Default what is code p1590 ?

I had a autologic read my faults today. It read P1590 And the tech said it was abs ecu failure. He also sadi the ecu may have damaged some wiring. I am wondering what i should do next. I was going to spend the money on an ABS modulator Kit for 800.00 from rover parts but i do not want to purchase the wrong part. I have already tried the cheap fix ( shuttle valve kit) and that did not work .The tech says i need an ECU ..Is the ECU on the computer side of the MOdulator. Would appreciate any helpCaleb

The cheap shuttle valve kit never works, you must use the expensive one.
DiscoMike knows more about this than I do, but I highly doubt that you need a new ECU.

1590 is a rough road/ABS fault that normally will also show up when the ABS is having problem with the lights coming on and off or on all the way.
It can be clear with a proper scanner and is not being caused by any other ABS part.

Hey mike.. I was doing some searching on this code ,witch I now have, and you say here it has something to do with the lights. Can you explain further on how the lights play a part in this code. Is it the warning lights not activating correctly or something else?

I had to re-register today whats up with that?

Thanks man,
Jeff

The 1590 code is a Rough Road/ABS fault only indicating the the 3 Amigos are on or come on go. Fix you brakes and then you can clear the code.

Disco mike, hi I'm norm and I had this code come up along with three lights. The abs, traction control, and decent light. They came on after I wash it and started it to go somewhere. Any idea why this is?
