Hare, you should be good with a hose from AutoZone. Desperate times call for desperate measures. And you can be our crash testdummy and let us know if the hose works.

Lets hope it will, nearest autozone is a mile away so it's time ot test my bicycle skills. Crash test dummy? Well I've crashed thedisco before (bumper accident at a green light, don't ask) and that makes me kind of a dummy, I guess, but I'm not sure what I was testing...now to call autozone.

Well, autozone cannot do it since it is a pressure hose. Guess I'll call Carquest.

Neither can Carquest since the hose "might be in metric." They gave me the name of a hose manufacture in a nearby town. I'm guessing electric tape can't be a temporary solution?

ORIGINAL: pilsner

the problem is that the paseo is worth about a full tank of gas in the rover...
any NEW suggestions?
we have full coverage on both vehicles
I came up with a plan to get rid of the paseo. Simply park the rover on top of it. Problem solved. It may not be a good suggestion but it is new.

Hare - Sounds like Carquest either doesn't know what they're doing or doesn't want to bothered. Their parts books tell what thread is on the fittings for those lines. I worked at a Carquest a few years ago and we made hydraulic lines all the time which is all a power steering line is.

AK Rover, I'm not surprised. Most people in retail (car parts or otherwise) here follow the laissez faire method of work. Must be a cajun-french thing.

Well, after calling all the car parts stores in townandthe two closest dealershipsI decided to go with next-day from AB. Turns out it was the same price so I ordered some bulbs that I was planning on getting anyways. The hose was $48+$51 next-day shippingat AB and $71+$21 standard-freight shipping("at the least," they said)at the dealer, so I decided to add some light stuff to the order.

Anyways, the guy at AB told me I'd need two wrenches in order to install the hose so I have to check my tools. Never done anything with dual wrenches so this should be a learning curve for me.

Now to figure out how I'll get to work tomorrow morning...

Hare don't feel bad I went to Auto Zone to get spark plug.

I have the Bosch platinum +4 that fouled out after the fuel
injection service I did.

The guy did not have the +4's in stock so I asked what he though would work he yelled over to Joe,, Joe asked what the plugs go in I said a Land Rover, he said NGK then they are OEM, I said Land Rover not Land Cr, he said yea Toyota,
No from UK like Jag, but thats owned by Ford (Joe),, (me) not anymore Tata ownes it now.
I went else where.
I was on my way to the dealer to get the LR plugs at $11 each but I stopped by a Pepboys and they had the Champion RC12YC's in stock on sale for .99 cents each thats
a $2.00 savings on AB.
I still don't know how I lucked out.
I hope you have luck with your power steering hose.

This might be a question for Disco Mike but what MM wrench will I need for the nut onthis hose? My 5/8 wrench is too small but not by much, the 11/16 is too big. Anyone know the MM conversion that's between those two? I'm still a bit confused on how to dual wrench these nuts.
Also, I'm not sure but I looks like I may have to take my belt off to reach under the pump, has anyone else replaced this hose (anr6656)?

I do not know what size wrench you need, but you will need two.
Buy two wrenched what they mean is that there is a nut on each end of the connection.
So you will haveone wrench in your left hand and one in your right.
Push with one pull with the other.

Try a 16 or 17mm. A 5/8 comes out to 15.8mm and and 11/16 is 17.5mm.
