The project is progressing. The frame had rust holes, but the body was surprisingly clean.

@Zinhead How is your Turner engine holding up? I got into the same situation just a week ago, very likely a cracked block (still need to confirm this). I am still undecided between a Turner short block and selling it for parts.

The Turner only has 2,000 miles on it, but it is holding up fine and no fluid loss, good power and no check engine lights.

I wish there was more of a bullet proof rover option. I have a discovery 2 that I recently acquired and it has a myriad of issues. I am just considering selling it or ls swapping it.

Great to hear. Did you get the standard or the performance camshaft? I wonder if the performance camshaft can make trouble with emission control system (I am in California).

It has the performance camshaft and does not throw codes. In my state, that is all you need to pass emissions.
