What do you think of this craigslist steal?
Well I had a choice: spend $5,500 on a 2003 Discovery "S" with 113k, or spend $4,900 on a 2004 Discovery "SE Trail 1 edition" with 130k, all service intervals, excellent condition, loaded. Both vehicles are local and both owners are willing to accept payments. Previously I considered the prospect of getting the 2003 S and spending the $$$$ to convert it to a SE/HSE with all the features. But that's no longer in my best interest. I meet the seller of the 2004 SE at noon tomorrow to sign the paperwork!

I wonder if the photo of the steering wheel was taken in sequence with the outside shots? Steering wheel is turned, but wheels in other photos are straight?
Other than that, looks like a nice ride.

Yeah I noticed that to, haven't asked the seller yet. Figured I'd just wait until I personal inspect the Disco tomorrow, and yeah I'll be taking her for a test drive. Hopefully those pics are not in sequence though! I'll take some of my own pics tomorrow and let you guys know how everything goes. Wish me luck!
If you have one, might want to bring a code scanner. Sometimes people will pull light bulbs (the easy solution to getting rid of "check engine" lights). The code scanner will tell you if you're getting codes or not. Could also swing by an Autozone for a free scan too, if you don't have a scanner.
Good luck,

I just noticed - it looks like something's wrong with the rear door window wiper. Better check that out.
In general, every rover ad I've seen describes it as perfect, etc. etc. Your goal is to figure out if there's anything that doesn't seem right. i.e. if the owner is lying about one item, what's the likelihood he/she is honest about other things. If everything seems ok, you can feel good about it.

I'll test out that rear wiper to and see what's up with it. I'm more concerned about the steering wheel position at the moment, but if its nothing then I'll be happy. Either way I'm gonna take this offer regardless, if it needs a little work that is fine with me because its rare that I see a 2004 for this price in my local area. Been wanting one for a long time now. I'll also be sure to take note of the dash lights when I start up the engine!
