Default What do you think these codes point to? MAF??

hey all,

I'm trying to get to the bottom of a CEL on my disco 2... it's a 2000. i've had it for about 2 years with this light on the whole time. haven't done too much to it because it's our second car. anyway, the CEL has been on since i bought it. the original codes were p171 p174. i bought an aftermarket MAF cause i just couldn't afford the LR part. replaced it and got two completely different codes, p102 p1884. each MAF will throw those same codes if i go back and forth. does this point directly at 2 bad MAFs or could it still be something else? i'm a little perplexed. i can't find and vacuum leaks or broken wires, but i'm not an LR expert either, don't know where the weak points are.

what do you guys think?

Jay

Jay, why the "HELL" did you wait 2 years to get the codes read, then put in a cheap after market MAF, that everyone knows won't work in our Discos?
If you can't afford, sell it while you can, before the real cost hit you.

hey mike,

now i've got more time and money, that's why i'm looking into it. the CEL never affected the driving. and i figured it was likely a bad MAF thats why i didn't spend too much time and money on it.
now i'm looking for a solid opinion based on the 2 sets of error codes. buying the aftermarket MAF was a bad idea but i just didn't know how bad.

All 4 of those codes indicate a failed MAF, go to British Parts of Utah and buy one from them, send your aftermarket unit back for a refund.
