Default What the heck happened here? (Throttle body heater)

So, took off the coolant hoses from the throttle body heater and looks like they’re all plugged up. Is this common?

That is the combination of Dexcool and air. Which is why Dexcool is only good in a system that will never leak or have air introduced in any way. The TBH probably once had a small leak.

@Brandon318 ... you can bypass the TBH altogether if you don't live in a cold climate area. They leak all the time.

Looks like some water and the Home Depot version of Head Gasket Sealer.

I use the BMW blue coolant. This is a relic from the PO. We just got this Disco a month ago and this week I've been working through the major service sticky.

When you replace grab a Genuine kit. I reconditioned the gasket contact surface with 180 then 220. Seems to have worked beautifully. I have heard people just seal using The Right Stuff, but I have not tried it.

Delete it. Best fix for a TB heater on a Discovery.

Dexcool is amazing. Fixes its own leaks.
