Default What kind of oil for an 04 Disco

Should I use fully synthetic oil (5w - 30) in my 2004 Discovery? I live in a very hot, arid climate. If not, why not?

Thanks

go with mobile 1 10-40 high mileage. the extra additives will help a engine with some miles on it.

i run that oil in freezing to 100+ temps no problem.

10W/40 or a 20W/50 depending on what you consider hot.

15w-50 is another good choice.

Spike what do you run in your truck? Do you change up from winter to summer here in MI?

I run 15w-50 on St. Croix and the weather year round is always about 85-95F I ran 10w30 or 10w40 when i first brought it down but I have noticed it runs a lot smoother, quieter, and I have higher oil pressure with 15w50. I am very happy with that weight.

I run Mobil 1
