no offense, but why is everyone so easy about leaks. i cant stand them to be honest with you and i know its a LR and i know the saying.i had one drop fall from my t-case, unforunately the input side, and had it on the ground the next free day i had. they leak, but dont have too. not to mention that leak is going to saturate the park brake shoes and will make them much less effective.

I'm very mechanically inclined but I probably do not have any "special tools"if they'rerequired. It is curious that I've driven it four times since I discovered the leak but it hasn't leaked any more. The day I found this I had driven more than usual, a lot of errands in town. I put a clean piece of cardboard under it and not drips. In any event I really appreciate you taking the time to help.

Kindest Regards, Jerry

that shaft is higher in the t-case than the fluid level when the truck is sitting, so it will only leak when fluid is thrown up and makes it to that seal, like while driving. excess pressure will also make seals leak make sure to blow out the breather line. also when the fluid gets low enough its going to stop leaking. its a cheap seal..

No offense taken on the leaks.
I just dont worry about..anything. If the leak is big I will fix it, no puddle no fix.
Lifes to short to worry about leaks. Or money. Or jobs. Or bills. Or forums. Or anything for that matter.
I sweat because I'm fat not because I'm worried.

Again...Many Thanks! I'll check it regularly. Is changing this seal a major undertaking?

the tailshaft comes out, brake assembly comes off, output flange and then smacking a new seal in. the brake has a bunch of little parts but if you **** stack-um as they come out i didnt think it was anything too complicated.

the leak saying i saw on a bumper sticker back home on a defender, thought it was awesome. on the opposite side of his bumper he had a jeep recovery vehicle sticker, whick is even better comming from an area where joofy jeeps are the hot off roaders.

You can use a product called White Shepard. I will not harm your transfer case and will seal up your leak. It costs about $30 and will take about 15 minutes start to finish to do the job. Good luck. Phil
