Exclamation What is this in my oil pan?

I have a 2003 land rover disco 2 that has developed an oil leak in several places. I thought it was the oil pump or front seal, but when I dropped the pan I found a large flat metal ring (or what looked to be a ring) with small notches on the inside. Does anyone know what this is?

Picture was with original post. Not sure why you can't see it.

Looks like a broken washer or spacer of some sort. Maybe a camshaft float spacer? (Not sure if these engines have such a thing.)

Default Not a broken ring, but a whole piece

So I washed the piece and it appears to be whole. Exactly a semicircle with three tabs

It’s also magnetic if that helps.

Measure the diameter and thickness. looks like the thrust bearing off the crank.

Yep, that is your crankshaft thrust bearing. Gonna need to replace that.
