Default What are my suspension needs?

I have a 96 Disco with 160k on the clock and my driver's front shock just busted and I am curious as to what suspension kit I should get. I had it checked out by a shop and they said obviously that specific shock would need to get done but that my other front should be replaced as well. I do about 75/25 on-road to off-road and am not too concerned with a lift. I bought this used and it already had an aftermarket suspension. I dont know how worn out it is or if its new but I have put on 50k miles myself. Should I just replace all springs and shocks or just fix the one? If I should go ahead and do everything, what kind and where to get them? Thanks guys.

Well this all hinges on your budget.
I would just replace all four shocks and see how it rides, if you replace just the one it will ride funny.
www.atlanticbritish.com and you can look up suspension kits, just springs, just shocks etc.

Old Man Emu will give you a better than stock ride and last much longer.

I don't think you can get a stock height from OME anymore but they are only
1.5 in lift.

If you plan on keeping your Disco, you need to replace your springs, shock and steering stabilizer, all of which wore out probably 100,000 mile ago.
If you want specific information get back to us.

Ok good. With that advice I will go ahead and look toward a total shock/spring replacement on all four wheels. Now, my question is which kit to buy? Money is not too much of an issure but I dont want to go crazy. I know everyone like OME but I don't think I do that much off road to justify it (75/25 on road to off road). I found a good deal on Pro Comps at Rovers North. What about a Bilstein set? Which ones would give me the best performance for what I need it to do?
