What is the small square on the interior roof above the driver’s seat?

Default What is the small square on the interior roof above the driver’s seat?
I just picked up a 2003 LR Disco, base model, slicktop, mostly in good condition. I’m currently working on restoring as much of the original factory interior components I can. There is a gap where something used to be above the driver in the roof, curious to know what that is so I can replace.

Another question, the base model didn’t come with arm rests. Would they be easy to find/install?

Any genral advice is super appreciated. Thank you!

Do you mean the large rectangular cut out in the middle of the roof panel above the front seats?

That is the impression where the sunroof would be if the car was outfitted with them
