Default What Ultra-gauge

An appeal to the UG users and techies out there.

I am thinking of buying an Ultra-gauge in the US for my 2003 D2 TD5 auto. What model UG is best/recommended for this application?

Running my Autel in live mode is far too cumbersome and it would be interesting to have live data whilst on the move.

Does the UG work also on the RRS?

Any help appreciated as there's nothing like personal knowledge rather than the usual sales blurb on the website.

Many thanks

The EM plus has emissions readiness and performance features, its only $8 more than the EM. The MX adds manufacturer slecific gauges, mostly GM and Ford trucks. Not really useful for you.

I also use the Torque app with a bluetooth OBDII reader. It gives alot more diagnostic info than the UG, I use my UG to monitor my coolant temp.

It should work in a RRS as long as it has an OBDII port.

I've just had a dig around on the UG website and it states there that the TD5 engine is not OBD2 compliant as is many other diesels so fitting one would be a wasted exercise. Hey-ho, maybe LR just wanted to keep 'mugging' everyone for their cash at the main dealerships instead. It appears that Nanocom are the only live data reader worth considering then although my Autel does give limited live data but they are also a bunch of franchised shysters.

Hi drowssap, yep the Hawkeye does the same functions as the Nanocom but is too bulky to dash mount as a permanent fixture.
