Yes thank you. I see that...

As of now the strangest thing is happening and I have a thought but I'm just not sure...

Once I go through the procedure the truck is fine at idle. As soon as I start to drive though the truck overheats and when I pop the top STEAM is coming out of the over flow tank...

So my question is this... For testing purposes I have been using 100% water in the cooling system. No mixture what so ever. Is this improper? I have been doing so because I don't want to just buy gallons and gallons of antifreeze/dex cool if my problem still persists.

Please advise... Going crazy.

water is ok for testing....should be distilled. but straight water cools better than mixed.
it sounds like you could have exhaust gas in the cooling system.
i would do the chemical test

When you say exhaust is in the cooling system... What could be the cause of that?

I'm very new to LandRovers as my vehicle was a rotary... I'm at a small loss and at the moment don't have the resources to take it to a mechanic.

if this is the case, the cause is likely a failed head gasket

...aye, a failed head gasket...

I'm researching what the possible symptoms are for that. I'm praying that it's not that but I guess there is some way to test that?

I thought if water was getting into the motor than I should see residue or something coming out the exhaust system... And why is that at idle the truck is fine? It's only when I attempt to drive it?

Dusty provided a nice GIF of the tool used to test for a failed HG

Yep. That combusion leak tester is available for rent at most of the larger auto parts stores. (you just can't return the fluid)

I still have my 1st gen Rx7 in my garage. That was my first toy and may someday make it back to the road. It is currently storing various LR parts on the hood and roof.

My 2003 discovery has the same exact leak with throttle body heater head. ordered the kid from British atlantic. Found a good write up by Josh under 'throttle body heater repair", but all the photos are unavailable. Does anyone have a detail instructions? Thanks in advance.
