Default Wheel Sensor Question

Hi,
I'm in the process of fixing my 3 amigo problem on my 2004 SE.
I was getting them intermittently and purchased a code reader from RSW.
It read a low input from the left rear sensor.
I took the sensor out and cleaned it and reinstalled it and now the amigos come on all the time.
I then purchased a used sensor from Miami Rovers and prior to installing it I put a ohm meter across it and read 1070, I checked the old one and the the reading was 798.
I figured that was the problem and installed the new (used) sensor and the
the amigos come right back.
Does any one know what a new sensor ohm reading would be.
I'm thinking I got a bogus one form Miami Rovers.

I bet they ripped you off for that sensor

Can you slide it more toward the teeth??
It probably needs more signal.

I did this on my D1 when I got a brake code.
I have yet to assault the brakes on a D2.

You probably have it too far from the signal generation part.
All I did---

Crawled under the D1
Took a dull phillips.

Here you are near the diff and looking at the wheel.
find the wire going to the sensor.



Put it on the edge of the sensor
Do not hit the center wire.

A few taps to move it out towards the wheel.
and done.

From what I have learned reading on here, the 3 Amigos will then GO OUT

When the problem is corrected.

Thanks for the input jfall (no pun intended)
Unfortunately the motion wheel on the D2 is internal to the hub and the sensor
mounts on the hub casting on a fixed plate.
I did clean off the mounting surface thinking that the was to much clearance but no luck.

There has been some discussion about whether you can replace just the sensor, or if you need to replace the whole hub. For me, I had a low output code for my front sensor. I was told by many people that you can just replace the sensor, so i bought a new one, but that didn't fix it. After doing some more reading from other websites, it seems the majority of people had to replace the whole hub with the sensor, and a minority were able to fix it with just the sensor. I bought the hub from Rovahfarm, swapped it in one weekend, and that did the trick. Its an expensive part and a bitch to replace, but Rovahfarm has the best prices, and with a little time, sweat, patience and luck, you can replace it.

Can you put thin flat washers under the screws to raise it a mm or so?
Get it closer to the teeth to give it more signal.

For whatever reason, your hub may be further out than you are counting on.

What I would do -
Remove the Axle and tighten the wheel bearings to spec.
That will bring in the axle/hub a bit.

And, maybe try the washer trick - if you can find tiny washer to go under the mounting screws and raise it a bit.

You probably only need to be a tad closer.
