Default Wheel size

I'm looking to get some 15x8 wheels for my disco 2 with 33x12.5 tires. What would be the proper backspace to get? 3.75 or 4.5???
If anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated!

The best for offroad that Landrover used to fit were 7.50 Michelin XCL tires. I drove on these off road in the UK and when it came to deep mud if there was anything solid don there the XCLs found it.

I was thinking about a slimmer tire, but I'll mostly be doing rock crawling and such, so the wider tire was the winner., or maybe I'll get a set of slims too

Have you considered the modifications needed to fit a 12.5" tire in a D2?
How much of a lift do you have, you will need gears, HD axles and some sort of locker to replace your 2 spider geared diffs that will not stand up to that tire?

I have considered gears and new lockers, but I didn't know I would need HD axles. I have a 3" OME lift right now with 265/70 firestone destination a/t's on stock wheels. I'm still looking to get 15inch wheels, what size tire would you recommend without upgrading axles?
