Wheels.....
I have a 2003 Discovery and i have 22" wheels that i want put on. The tires are 285/35/22, and i was wondering if they will fit on the vehicle, and if so is there any special that needs to be done to make them fit ie...wheel wells or calibration to the RPM/MPH gauges?
to be honest, the only reason i am trying to put these on is for the fact that i had an accident in my Discovery and ended up destroying 2 rims and tires. I got the 22's from my brother for free with tires, and didn't want to have to spend more money on buying two new rims and tires to replace the ones that got smashed. The rims i already found out will fit my LRD with same bolt pattern as my old rims that were 20"s. I understand the UGhh!!!
What size tires were you running before? If my math is correct (online calcs didn't work with a 22" wheel) the 285/35 tire is ~30" tall (3.97 inches x2) + 22. A 30" tall tire fits without rubbing but it seems the width of the tire and offset of the wheel will be the determining factors.
Size: 22x9.5" in company with a 5x120 deadbolt model. RANGE ROVER LAND ROVER DISCOVERY BMW X5.These are the rims that i have. Not sure what size tires i had on the truck previously.
The tires you have on those rims are approximately 11.5 inches wide. I imagine you're going to have problems with the tires rubbing while turning. I don't know where they will rub so have no idea how to prevent it. Also consider that with those thin sidewalls you could easily end up rubbing the wheel itself.
I was reading another forum and there was a kid that wanted to put 22s on his range rover classic. It was funny as heck. He got all defensive when they told him they wouldn't work and started teasing him about it. The more defensive he got, the deeper the kids obvious lies got the more they teased him. If I can find the link to the Forum I'll post it. It really is worth reading for the entertainment.

Have the wheels and tires already been balanced? If so install them yourself. There should be a bottle jack under the battery cover, and a lug wrench with the wheels chocks. Use the notches in the radius arms to jack each wheel.
