When is the right time to sell?
Funny thing you mentioned rovers in the jungle...I once saw one sitting on blocks in the Kenyan bush...crazy thing was...I thought to myself..."nice truck!"
Back to your question...if you DID happen to find a buyer willing to pay mid to top dollar snag it. You'll be able to get another. Great "buyers' market right now.

I may not be able to get an unbiased opinion here because it is a land rover enthusiast website but I have a question. I'm getting a gut feeling that it may be a good time to sell the Disco I bought in Jan, although I love the car, almost everything. I think I could get a lot more for it over the next 4 months than if I decided to drive it till the wheels fall off. Its a 98' but only has 70k miles on it, just got a weird feeling that a lot will go on it soon. It seems to run fine and I know the previous owner and when something minor was fixed with the engine before I bought it the mechanic said that after seeing the inside of the engine it was in really good shape. However I got a really good deal and could wait for the right buyer who has to have a land rover. I could then buy one after finding the person who has to get rid of their car. Basically get maybe an 01-02 with @ the same amount of miles just because I got the time. My main questions are is this about the time/mileage when sh*t starts to hit the fan? Which has the better reputation the Disco 1 or 2? You guys all seem knowledgable so if you gotta a question I would love to answer it.

You would have to start over again with a LR.
Mike, Do you compensate for being overgeared when you calculate your mileage ????
You run a 265/75 which is 31.75 inches in diameter, where the stock 255/65 was 29.1 inches and therefore 9% over stock.
But you have 4.10 gears compared to 3.55 stockwhich is 15.5 % over stock.
Therefore you odometeris offby 6.5% too much. So do youtake this in consideration when calculating your mileage ???

Landzu, good to know. I was always told that was the actual weight of the vehicle with a full tank of gas and no passengers, guess I was mis-informed. Thank you.

So you can carry 1566 lbs of gear ( I had to look at my manual) for 6019 lbs (2730 Kg)
Max weight.
When I travel I dont like to go over the weigth.
