Where to buy fuel pump?
Looks like my fuel pump is going bad so I want to replace it. Where should I buy it from? I read some of the posts and one poster said he bought his from autozone for $79 and when I checked it was $451. This is for a 1999 Discovery 1. Thanks.
Consider buying a good guaranteed used one from, http://www.roverlandparts.com/fuelpumps.aspx
for $225. For some reason they changed the 98 and 99 D1 pumps and the factory price is pretty pricey.

One of the nice and little known facts about the factory LR fuel pump, it is designed to still work if the fuel tank is crushed, like while off roading for example, you slide across a rock and it crushes your gas tank...the fuel pump will still work.
The $80 fuel pump from AutoZone is a GM pump, you install it into your LR fuel pump assembly.
Remeber that the pump is just one part of the whole assembly.

Spike do you know exactly which GM pump it is? I know when I walk into Autozone unless I can give them the specific vehicle or part number they are going to insist on selling me the $500 rover pump. Thanks.
No I do not know which pump it is.
I would recomend doing like DiscoMike said, buy a used one from www.roverlandparts.com or buy one off of e-bay.
After you get your truck running again if you wanted to take your old fuel pump apart and figure out which pump goes in it and then once you get it up and running you can post it on here.
If you Google how to repair a fuel pump or something like that you might find some answers.
Remeber, Google is your friend.
