Default Where do I stick this ACE filter?

Hi there.

So at the risk of sounding totally inept, I am about to follow Disco Mike's instructions for changing my ACE filter and also circulating in fresh fluid. It is part of the 75k service on my 2003 HSE.

I'm crawling around under the passenger side of truck with my 10 mm wrench and a 6mm bolt but am not sure what I am looking for. There is a metal guard plate - three phillips screws and some 10mm nuts holding it to the frame. Am I in the right vicinity?

BTW, the truck does have ACE. That much I know. ha

Any help appreciated. Thanks, Jeffery

pass side rite on frame rail, the ACE hyraulic block ia about 6x4in and has steel lines running in and out at both ends, aluminum block has a bolt in the bottom that you need the allens for, your model may have a cover on it. once you get the allen out just use some needle nose pliers and CAREFULLY wiggle out the old filter, the alum threads are soft. remove serpentine belt and hand turn pump while keeping track of fluid level in tank, top off as needed until fluid comming from block is the new stuff. push in new filter and screw cap back on. DONT RAISE your truck during any of this, keep it level. Install serp belt top off tank and start truck, the primary side will purge its self of air, keep eye on fluid level.

Thanks very much for the details, Ryan. I'll take another look in the morning.

And thanks also for taking my obvious set up for a joke, Spike. I was actually expecting a barrage of great wit at my expense, but I'll have to settle for good advice.
