Where to get centering ball?
I had my front driveshaft u joints rebuilt last year but, they did not replace the centering ball. I have the shaft at a shop to be balanced and they are saying the centering ball is bad and is causing my vibration. Trying to find the best place to buy on. Thanks.

does anyone have a part number?I am having problems finding the part. The drive line shop just called me and said that you can not get parts for the shaft and my only option is to replace the whole shaft. This is after I have already had the u-joints rebuilt at another shop, so I find it hard to believe My only option is a new shaft.

see Buy Neapco Double Cardan CV Ball Seat Repair Kit 7-0081NG at Advance Auto Parts
which is link for centering ball from the "sticky" in the tech section, which also says "ignore the parts store computer says it don't fit"

Thanks, I had just found the sticky. So how does this kit work? I really do not have a good grasp yet on how this centering ball is bad and how to fix it. Also, is there supposed to be some kind of boot over this joint? Mine does not have one.

Okay job is done! It wasnt too bad but, the slide hammer is a must. The only place I had problems was putting bearing cap back on. One of the bearing pins fell out of place and kept the cap from seating so I wacked with a hammer trying to get it to seat. I quickly found out if the cap is not seating there is a reason and beating on it only makes things worse. I ended up bending one of the bearings so, I had to steal one out of my old cobra driveshaft to get it all back together.
