Ok so i FINALLY was able to get the disco though the smog check so its high time to start the build.

I was just looking at my mounting options for my CB and 2M radios and was thinking overhead where the sunroof switches (approximate location) would be a good spot for my CB but wanted to see where others had mounted theirs. Does anyone have any suggestions, tips or even photos?

i have mine mounted on the overhead bin, on the horizontal section in the middle, i een took the power leads from my non working auto dimming mirror and used them as the power wires for it so i didnt even have to run wires... but i am thinking about moving it to the rear of my center console so it would be a lot easier to route my antenna cable...

 

Mine is in the center console. I used the power from my removed CD player.

 

Thanks ,I had not though about 'in' the center console, I was thinking of putting on the back side of the center console where the passenger AC controls are or passenger foot well if i can work a spot that does not mess with the glove box. The 2M radio is much smaller so will likely go overhead

I'll post some photos of wherever they end up.

I put mine on the back of the center console. The mic lead runs along the right side and clips to my coin holder. Out of the way, but right there when I want it...
