So what exactly is the difference between the short block and the long block (besides the obvious)?

My Disco is an 03 SE with 140k.

I bought my '03 with a dead engine, Turner 4.6 was the first update to it. Done about 11K miles so far. Doesn't even drip oil 😀

You get the Turner heads installed by Turner.

If you get the gas flowed heads and the performance cam, do you need to get the chip flashed as well?

I think I go back and forth on LS swap v Turner long block daily.

No on the flashing, I've haven't heard of anyone who has flashed the D2 V8 engine

I keep hearing about these "LS swaps" as if they are readily and commercially available, proven, and doable without special skills or tooling, but I haven't seen any kits or services on the market to provide the swap??

Someone does it, I forgot the company name. It’s not cheap though.

Trailhead 4x4 does them, I'm not sure but I thought they partnered with Lucky8 to do them in their garage as well.

If someone were considering 300tdi swap, I'd also look at the the Cummins R2.8 swap. It's on my dream list.
