I took out one of my rear window frames to do some rehab, and found that the window channel is rusted apart. The channel is for the small window at the back. It is rusted into two pieces, and one of the mounting brackets fell off when I removed the nuts. I have reached out to local junkyards, and they will only sell me a door at a time. I reached out to LRparts.dk, and they are looking for something, but I do not have a lot of hope. Has anyone else replaced this and know where I could buy one or two? For reference, it is the one circled in the picture.
I've replaced those channels a few times. The Chicago winters (salt) have destroyed those things. The last one literally crumbled in my hands. I would reach out to Will Tillery (willtillery@roverguy.com) . Drop him an email with the picture. I'm not sure if he ships international but he may work it out.
Yeah, that is more or less what mine did. I have sent an email. I still have family in the US, so maybe I can work out a way to get it here one way or another.
Has anyone ever had a part-time work around for this issue? I am due for a long road trip in about 2 weeks and this is my only car... I could probably get some sheet metal and cut to shape?
I had a similar issue in the winter and needed the truck. I used Gorilla Tape. I taped it along the sides to the frame inside. I taped the top then taped it over the frame at the top. Then ran tape at the bottom. It more than held in place. It was dead of winter with temps around 0F. That Gorilla Tape is good stuff. It's like duct tape used to be.

Perfect! I can actually get that here lol. That'll be my plan then. It seems like it might be a very uphill battle to get the part without buying a whole door.
Obviously I was searching the wrong thing because I never found anything. This is perfect. I am still waiting on an email back from Will, but my next step was to scourer printables or thingaverse. Thanks so much for finding.
*He won't ship to Norway. 😭
