Default whine noise at speed

I have whining noise at cruising speed and when I let off the gas it goes away. However at about 80 mph it becomes a lot quiter. Any thoughts would much appreciated.

it is probably the front drive shaft.
I changed mine few weeks ago, and I have the exact same problem now.
there was a knocking sound with the old one, I changed it, and the sound became a high pitch grinding/ball bearing kind of sound...I will oil it up in few days and see what happens.

If someone was stuck to the grill, it would still make sound even if you dont push the gas once the car is moving ))

and it probably gets 'quiet' after 80, because you cant hear it due to high wind noise etc

I have the same whine in mine, except at 75-80 it's pretty pronounced.

All my oil is clean and fresh when I drain and fill, so I just accept it as a part of a gear driven transfer case and rover on.

I have the same noise. I can hear it until I let off the gas. It's been that way ever since I purchased it. I'm not sure what it is, but I don't worry about it.

Yeah, but they do increase the drag factor far too much also the cops reckoned it was cruel so best leave them at home watching TV and baking cakes and then go as fast you like on your own
