Default Whining at cold startup

Just thought I would let everyone know about an issue with my SAI that was hidden that others might have. I am currently taking my engine apart for head gaskets. My Disco has always made that whining sound at cold startup and I assumed at some point I would be replacing the SAI pump. However I happened to put my hand on the air tube leading from the pump and something didn't feel right. That tube is just plastic and mine had at metal heat wrap around it at where it makes the 90 degree turn up. Peeled that wrap away and sure enough it was split completely in two at that point. It may not solve my whining but I'm sure its part of the problem.

Yeah, I've seen that but mine is coming from that side of the engine and it was obvious. What wasn't so obvious was that under that heat wrap the tube was broken and collapsed. right at the 90 degree corner.
