If you've been pushing on the SET button try gently pulling it toward you instead. Same for RES. When I first got my truck 15+ years ago it took a few weeks and a call to the dealer to figure out why the cruise didn't work when I PUSHED the button.

The switches on mine feel a little weird, but the system still works just fine. Remember that you need to pull the switches forwards, not push them backwards.

This is a Rover. There are no dumb questions. Since they drive on the wrong side of the road in the UK, maybe they design the switches under the same premise

Just picked up the Disco from Great Basin Rovers this afternoon. Sure enough, it was the clock spring. Cruise works perfect now (as does the horn).

Pull, not push seems to be working.. LOL. But, once or twice it did not. Need to find the commonalities of when it does not. Thanks all
By the way, what is "clock spring"?

AKA rotary coupler. It's a sprung circular contact that lives in the base of the steering wheel or on the top of the steering column that allows power to get to and from the controls mounted on the steering wheel.

OK, ... I read that this happened to someone else. Thought they posted here, but I don't see it now.
Cruise Control will NOT Set when my radio is turned on. Well, ok then.. If I turn the radio off I can Set it, but when I turn the radio back on it soon shuts off the Set.
Thoughts? Will pull the steering wheel today I guess being the commonalities could be in this clock spring.?

I’d say yes. New ones from Atlantic British are a bit over $300.

On your specific issue, I can’t really speak as I’ve not yet programmed the controller I got with the aftermarket stereo yet to work with the OEM steering wheel controls, but my horn works perfect in addition to the cruise and I don’t get any SRS codes (the air bag also goes through the clock spring).

In regards to CC troubleshooting, and the "clock spring" that is mentioned. Is that only for the cruise control buttons, or all steering wheel buttons?

Asked another way, if my radio buttons on the steering wheel are working is it safe to assume that the "clock spring" is functioning correctly?

On my CC I get the light on the cluster button but when I pull the button on the steering wheel I get nothing. No click or noise at all. Radio controls on the steering wheel work.
