why i cant bleed the coolant system on a D1

I don't remember seeing a bleed screw on the Thermostat housing, but ill go there and double check.
and i guess ill try it out with out reeving the engine, and ill make sure i remove the bleed screw from the radiator and fill the reservoir until i see coolant coming out of the bleed screw.
Ill do that later today, cause i just got in to work and the Disco is still hot.

The t/stat is not going to have anything to do with the out come of your bleeding efforts. If bleed as I posted before, all the air will be removed from the top of the engine and you'll be done.
If you follow my steps, step by step, you will be just fine man.. its not all that difficult, just take your time and don't rush it!
Like Disco Mike said you wont need a new thermostat, once the air is out, the vehicle will run just fine!
