wierd humming vibration at idle

Oh and even with the alternator locked up, the belt wouldn't stop moving. I bet it'd smell pretty bad though.

When the bearings went out on my alt it sounded like a rod knock. It was so loud that people in the car next to use at a stop light even looked over. So I can see how yours vibrated the whole trk. Especially since these trks are smooth anyway.

the whole truck wasn't vibrating, just the parking brake, gas/brake pedals, steering wheel. You could just barely feel it in the seats but only at idle, not even 50 rpm above. It did smell pretty bad. I still don't know what happened to the tranny fluid. a half quart seems to have disappeared. its not leaking or anything, just gone.
