Default Humming when I turn the wheel....plus vibration that's not related.

When I turn to the right while driving I get a loud humming sound, less so when I turn to the left, sound goes away when going straight.

Also, 3 amigos are lit, getting p1590.

Last but not least, in an unrelated issue, I have a vibration and a noise coming from the rear of the engine, sound like the torque converter or maybe a cracked flex plate. Checking it today I didn't see anything, but might have seen a little back and forth movement of the torque converter...

Nxt steps?

I get that on my Discovery II when I turn the wheel fast the first thing in the morning when the truck is first started.
Never after that.

I replaced the power steering pump and put in the good Honda Power steering fluid too.

Thinking it is i the steering box.
But, I don't care.
It drive great otherwise.

Our Discovery I does the same thing. Even when it is hot and run for a long trip.
In the parking garage.
Hard turn and buzzzz

So, how many miles on the Disco, have you ever rebuild or replace the front drive shaft?
Are the 3 amigos on all the time?

First off, It's absolutely not the PS pump. I know that sound and this trucks noise is only at speed, never just turning the wheels.

Just bought the truck 2 weeks ago. 176k on it. Have no history. I listened harder driving it today, the "humming" can be felt in the drivers floor along with of course hearing it. It only happens at speeds of above 50 before you can really hear and feel it. the steering feels tight, and the tie rods look great, the ball joints are crap, (at least the rubber around them) The truck seems to have great alinement and is smooth most the time, but I have noticed a couple times where the front and steering wheel will start to shake, like the wheel weights are off.

At first I thought this noise was coming from the pass side, but now I'm leaning toward the drivers after todays drive. Noise completely gone when going straight.

So, still leaning toward wheel bearing....

3 amigos are on all the time. with code p1590 showing. I have not been able to find anyone with an ABS reader to dig further.

Oh, and on the trans noise.... Got it on the lift and stethoscoped the noise, king of a grinding sound, makes the noise all the time, drive, park, reverse, does not matter. Could not see much, torque converter may be moving back and forth a little to much... So, still thinking I may be looking at a cracked flex plate. The vibration from it is enough to see it vibrating the drivers seat. Makes it so you can't drive at 75. Going to focus on the front issue first, then will deal with this.

Trucks been sitting since last note on it. Today I took it in to shop, and got it on the lift. You can move the front drivers wheel side to side and up and down easy... wheel bearing totally shot.

What parts do I need spcifically to fix this. I understand it's not a simple matter of putting in a new bearing...

The front bearing is part of the hub assembly (and ABS sensor), I've heard stories of people changing just the bearing but I've never seen it done (or tried it myself). Here's one example Land Rover Discovery II Hub Assembly With ABS Sensor (Same Fit As Genuine Part # TAY100060) but the prices vary wildly between sellers, do a google search to find your best price

Been awhile as I have been working on some other things, but yesterday I put a new drivers side hub on. The old one well, it's was totally shot. Hum gone. The movement it was causing damaged one of the (ball joints/tie rods) Sorry, I'm terrible with suspension parts...
