Default Will 04 roof bars fit onto an 03?

Does anyone know if the round 04 roof bars can be a direct replacment for the somewhat rectangular bars on the 03? I prefer the 04 bar style and am interested if this is a easy swap.

Thanks

I'm not sure if you are asking about the crossbars or the existing railings on the roof.
You can swap out the existing railings with those for a 2004, remove the head liner and you can unbolt the old ones and bolt on the 2004 ones.
The crossbars for a 2004 do not fit on a 2003... unless you swap out the existing roof railings.

Yes, I installed the 04 rails on my 2003 and the looks tuff! I did it this past summer while getting chomped by mosquitos, but it was worth it. BE SURE TO PUT A GOOD CIRCLE OF SILICONE UNDER THE RUBBER PROTECTORS OF THE ROOF RAILS! I did not and 1st rain the right rail leaked like the kitchen sink on my 1st road trip. Removing the headliner is not terrible...at least not the front. The trickiest part is popping the seat belt steel clips on the back on the B pillars. You definitely want a panel popper tool for those, that was almost an hour of the job removing them. They are angry you think you are going to break them. I suggest removing the rear passenger door rubber seal. You will see little clips that cling around the B pillar. You can unclip those with a small pick set. That will help you expose the steel clips and then you can use your panel popper tool to pry them back. For the job I suggest one alcohol beverage to take the edge off and it may increase your patience.

Here is my old posting:

Pimped my 03 to a 2004 Roof rails installation

Just so we are all clear...
The roof rails run front to back.
The cross bars run side to side.
