Default Window load sensor?

Hi, I have a 2003 Discovery. The driverside window motor works, as I can hear it but is not putting the window up or down with out help. I opened the motor up and there is a big rubber sproket inside that is disconected from the little one in the middle....torn appart. Is there a load sensor ON the motor itself that would detect when the window is UP or DOWN and stop it? I'm figuring that if so, this sensor failed which in turn caused this rubber gear to break away.

I'm asking because I have a replacment motor to install and DON"T want this to happen again.

Thanks for your help!

Steve

Nope, no sensor.
This is common on Rover window regulators, the little plastic roller on the regulator breaks and the window wont move.
