Window Motors
Guys,
I found a company called Rimmer Bros and it looks like they carry oem style window motors and much much more. My question is would a window motor have the same foot print as the sunroof motors? I have one that I tried cleaning and it ended up burning out and need a replacement or someone to rebuild it.
Thanks

When I got my D2, the driver’s window motor was toast. At least in part due to the vehicle having been parked in the Vancouver rain with the window down for the previous 2 years. I took the motor from the left rear window and installed it in the front position (AFAIK the window motors on the same side of the car are identical). Then I ordered a cheap replacement motor for the rear (perhaps from Rimmer’s), reasoning that the original LR motor would last much longer in the front (where it gets way more use). 5 years later they both still work. As Extinct says, an original LR motor from a breaker is probably a better option.
