My driver side window is stuck in the way bottom as you see by the blue arrows in the pic. It got stuck after I heard a pop. The 2 rollers at the bottom are intact. I can still hear the motor run if I hit the window switch. However, the X-section of the regulator mechanism is stuck in the fully extended. The idea is to get the window regulator mechanism and motor out to determine a fix.
I am trying to get the arrowed parts up higher to the dotted blue line (so that I can access the 2 glass mounting bolts in the arrowed areas, and move the glass up and out of the way). I tried to use some force to push it up. It just will not budge. And I do not want to break the glass.
Thanks guys! Unbolting the mounting nuts and shifting the position of the regulator X-brace did the trick.
The motors works fine when I put everything back together, ie, raising the glass to the top. However, something appears wrong with the regulator mechanism itself. The window drop all the way down still to the very bottom and get stuck there. Time for a new window regulator assembly.
Double check the motor very carefully. The resin in the reduction gear hub can fail, and while the motor still sounds fine and the window still operates through much of its range, the torque required to pull the window up from the bottom of its travel is too much and the motor just spins. Check out the thread linked below.
Thanks for your advice. This is what I got.... both the regulator assembly and motor (new) for $85. The regulator assembly alone was already $40+. I figured I might as well throw in a few extra $ to get one with the motor:
Same thing happened to mine. The gear seemed to go past the last tooth. Twice.
Managed to lift and re-engage the gear properly, and put a 2? litre empty, capped soda bottle at the bottom of door (below dashed blue in your picture). Never trouble again; cushions the glass at the bottom and prevents from dropping beyond limit for $0.

That will surely put your window back in working order, but for posterity's sake after you replace the motor please pull the metal cover off the gear assembly and let us know whether or not the hub is broken as described in the post below. Another data point for the forum on this topic would be good. Thanks.
