Default Windscreen Trim

I recently took off the the windscreen trims on the left and right side, as per the RAVE, in order to get at my wiper linkages, but now that everything is back and in working order, I, for the life of me, cannot get the trim pieces to fit back into the spring clips. Is there some magical way that the trim is supposed to fit back in? The RAVE makes me feel inadequate in the men's department because it says to basically just snap it back in. I called my local dealership and they said that I need to replace the spring clips every time I take off those trim pieces, but the RAVE makes no mention of that either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Replace the spring clips? hah! What a load of bull that is!
Mine was kinda hard to get on too. I lined up the clips, pushed against outside of the vehicle first, then applied pressure to it near the window. I had to slam it on pretty hard though. It did not go on easy at all.

Yeah, I literally hammer fisted it last night--partly in desperation, partly in extreme frustration, with no results. I'll try and start from the outside as you suggested and work my way in then.

Thanks,
Phil
