Default Windshield panel leak?

I'm thinking about popping my cherry and buying a 2003 Disco with head gaskets redone and new front drive shaft but the seller states "There is some cosmetic damage, including a front windshield Panel Leak. Not bad, but has caused headliner to leak. Only requires a replacement part." I have never heard of a windshield panel. I'm wondering if it's the sunroof leaking? My main concern with the Disco's are the head gaskets (already done) and the oil pump gear killing the engine. I have a '95 Jag so I'm familiar with British cars and not afraid of getting my hands dirty. Any ideas about the panel?

sound typical you have a windshield leak probably from a poorly replaced windshield and it has wrecked the headliner. you need to remove the windsheild and have it resealed (hoping that it has not been leaking to long) replacing the headliner is a bitch, but can be done. You should clean out the roof drain while your at it. There are a couple of post/sticky of replacing headliners

Thanks for the help! So there is no "panel" and there is no "replacement part" per the PO, it's just a windshield leak... good to know. I've already been reading up on the headliner replacement steps. Sounds like a pain in the butt but maybe not a difficult job.

I would take off the plastic pieces by the door and pull the carpet and foam up to see how bad the rust is.... Do that on both sides. Also, windshield leaks are a bitch! Well mine was at least. I had to build a shield over the air intake for the cabin because for some reason water was coming in through it. WTH right?!

I have my headliner out and my only advice to you is make sure you remove all the screws!! The part sucks because there is a hidden screw that makes life difficult. I also think putting your front left seat all the way up to the dash and then reclining it back will allow you to take the head liner out at an angle because otherwise it won't fit through the back door. Put the rear seat down too. Get as many people as you can to help you because its really flimsy stuff. Just take your time. Took me about 2hrs first time to do it. I'm yet to put it back in!

Your welcome. Call the dealer up and order new sun visor clips. They break when you pull them out. There is a screw that goes through the plastic pieces, then a small piece of plastic covers it up. They all break when you pull it. I think it was $11.00 total at the dealer.
