Default Wiper Blade Stupid Question

It's dark out and I'm putting some new wiper blades on my 04 Discovery. I can't figure out the rear one, do I have to remove the spare tire to replace the rear wiper blade?

Hello!

Yes, you would have to remove it.

And don't worry. I got so frustrated with the rear wiper blade, that I took it to the dealer, and they told me all I needed to do was take off the rear tire......$30.00 later.

Happy Rovering!!

btw!!!! What "new" blades are you putting on?? The stock blades, or different ones?? I'm in the market for new blades, NON-stock!!

I orderedtheblade/arm assembly from Coventry West http://www.coventrywest.com/LandRover/index.htm
last year and I think it was around $20.00 including shipping at that time. It was easy to put on and I'm mechanically challenged. You do have to remove the spare tire (it's good to practice doing that anyway), and you have to remove the inside rear door panel in order to hook up the washer hose inside.

I appreciate the help fellas, I had some to drink and just couldn't be bothered with pulling the spare. I figured I'd ask before I started getting real agressive with the assembly. I just bought new blades from british atlantic, they were $40 for the 3 with shipping. Nothing really special, just a generic part in a bag but they work really nicely and were slightly longer than the ones I was changing out. I'll go grab my tire iron and get that back one changed out in a bit. Again, I appreciate the help.

I had to replace the arm on mine about a year ago. Someone had broke it off at the spindle.

In oder to avoid taking the door panel off to replace the washer hose, I just pulled the hose off the old wiper arm, did the same with the replacement and reused the old washer hose on the new wiper arm. Saved having to remove the inner door panel.

I have had the Sili blades for about a yead now and they work GREAT. The rubber is still soft and smooth. My old wipers cracked up real fast. Plus the Sili seem to put a alomost rin x type coating on the windshield. Hoep this helps!
