Default wiper blades

Just yesterday about 7:15 pm we were having a ice storm in ill. It was raining to begin with and I was driving the rover the wiper blades worked fine we got it home parked it. My wife then goes to mothers house in the ice storm and parks the rover. When she leaves her mothers house after defrosting the rover for 10 minutes she turned on the wipers briefly and they were stuck frozen and she turned them off. She calls me up at work today and said the wipers don't work. I come home from work and take a look at them, I took them off and it looks like to me the teeth are ground off. I put them back on and tightened the nut a little tighter. Now they seem to work again, but I was wondering if there is a better fix to this, as I have no teeth left for a better grip or is what I did good enough. Any ideas out there on how to better fix this, other than to buy a new posts. Are the wiper blades to have little ridges on the inside of them to grip the post also?

I had that happen to one of my wipers. I clean off the shavinga and applied a little JB Weld and resecure the wiper arm, worked great.

Yes appling JB weld and trying to use the wipers when frozen to the glass will mess up the wiper transmisison.

EVERYTIME it is below freezing/snowing/ice/freezing rain etc. you MUST let your wipers "park" before turning off the truck and make sure that they are not frozen to the glass BEFORE you try and use them, same thing with the rear wiper.
If you know it is going to be heavy snow/ice etc. you can pull the wiper arm away from the glass and they will stay pulled up and off the glass.
Just pull the arm out towards the front of the truck as far as they will go and they will stay like that, get back in and just push them down, no more wiper blades frozen to the glass.

Mr. O My husband thinks I am stupid as he. I did not leave the wipers on when it was very obvious to me that they were stuck I turned them off immediately. I realize that they would have gone through on whole complete of cycle of being on. But Mr. O my husband needs to realize also that we never bought this vehicle brand new and who else did the wipers get stuck with and how long did they leave them on for? I admit I am a little mechanically challenged to say the least, but I am not stupid..
