Default Wipers

My wipers ate it after a year. Makes sense given their exposure to heat/cold.

I do not have an upgrade to D1 arms. Last time, I ordered Atlantic British wipers front and rear. I'm heading on a trip through a rain/snowstorm on Thursday night, so looking for a recommendation that I can get via Amazon Prime or locally.

What do you guys use? Is it possible to replace only the rubber bit and keep the actual metal arms and blades?

I've been digging through threads but I'll I've found is a lack of consensus on what size to even get - some people say 21, some people say 18. Anyone order something from Amazon recently that they can shoot me a link for?

Thanks!

Atlantic British has the OEM blades on their Amazon store, $50 for all three.

I saw that (and that's what I purchased last time). Was hoping there was an alternative that I can have shipped quicker. My front wipers did'nt start coming apart until today.

I recently got all 3 from Rock Auto at somewhere around $3 each.

Or avoid the thieves ----> https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3295...archweb201603_

Near the end of 2020, still in one piece and working good. There may be other vendors, do a search for silicone wiper refills...

I use inexpensive Michelin blades from O'reilly, $10-$12 ea. You can pull just the rubber and stainless inserts out and insert them into the stock D2 frames. 21" I think, but I just carry the originals in and match.

I always buy from the uk. Usually just tagged onto something else.
But I did notice rockauto has them again. And cheap. Feeling less worried that I’m down to my last new one.

When you feel like spending the money the conversion D1 wiper blades etc made a huge difference for me. I would put it at top of list things to change if I bought another D2.

I just swap out the rubber blades. Pretty much anything the same length works. This photo shows pulling the blade from a set someone gave me because they didn't fit their car. I have also just bought the blade strip from Amazon. Sometimes you need to fix your wipers right away and none of the auto parts stores stock D2 wipers.

I have seen this mod, never seen the why behind it. Is the D1 wiper that much better than the D2?
