That sucks
I'm in Va, everything Lucky8 has free shipping, and always comes in 2-4 days.

Why does everyone make a big deal out of this? $11 for the inserts on the original arms. Takes less than 5 minutes to remove the old and feed in the new. What am I missing? And yes, I had D1 arms on my first D2 and meh, no difference.

11.00 US so about 16.00 CDN + typically UPS or Fedex shipping adds another 20 to 25 bucks. So I am looking at around 30.00 - 36.00 + taxes for wiper blades.

D1 arms would be nice but I cannot find a wrecked D1 in BC - and from the US same problem shipping and exchange is an issue. But in the long run D1 arms are the best solution as the take a standard wiper blade

I fitted D1 arms to the front of my D2A, it opens up a world of new wiper blades including Bosch aero amongst others. The hook type fixing is superior to the 'clip' type IMHO and with the 'clip' type it restricts the wiper selection immensely. As for the rear wipers, I just replace the inserts occasionally using larger silicon inserts cut down and always buy the largest insert and get plenty of future blades. I'm a cheapo money saver though

D2 blades at my local parts stores, after the 2-3 day wait are $64! Or, order online, save $2, and wait a week.
I paide $59 for new D1 arms, hardware, and blades.
With replacement blades being under $15 a pair, and available anywhere.
That's why it's a big deal.

I did the swap hoping they would apply more pressure to the windshield, but they do not. I like that there are more options and better prices on blades of course but they didn't solve the issue I was looking to solve, mainly that in snowy conditions the blades don't push down on the windshield enough to move the snow. On more than one occasion I had to get out and clean my windshield by hand every 15 miles while driving in snow. I've also installed a new "used" wiper linkage/transmission and that didn't help either. Currently with the D1 arms and triple braced blades the passenger side blade does not contact glass in a two inch section low on the blade. The non braced blades are worse.

I think the new D1 blades and arms would scrape paint off of my windshield.
I haven't used the in snow, but they work excellent in the rain, and there is alot of pressure on the blades too.
No streaks or missed spots, perfectly clean every pass.

I had a set used D1 arms that didn’t contact the passenger side very well. I just lightly bent the arm in & it fixed the contact issue.

With my D1 wiper arms I had to bend the rear arm to make contact with the rear window.

For years have been replacing only the rubber strip part at $5 each generic, dreaming of the day it becomes available in silicone.
Just ordered 2 pairs of these; should produce 2 x 22" + 1 x 14" for the rear. IF chinese do not lie and it is true silicone. Will report results in few weeks when arrive.
