Default Wont continue upon starting.

Hi there,
The last time I used my Disco was about a month ago. It runs and it starts well. Today, I was trying to start it and it wont continue to run. It cranks, almost about to run but really wont continue. Any advise please. Any trouble shooting guide? Thank you

Any fault codes stored? Check engine light illuminated? Is your fuel level above a quarter tank?

Crank sensor? That's the only thing that comes to my mind. Check for codes, there might be something stored that isn't causing the light to illuminate.

Does the engine fire up and then shut off? Or will it not fire at all, just cranks?
Your description is rather vague leaving us to ramble off guesses.

It could be a number of things, but we need to know a little more in order to provide a solid diagnosis.

Off Top of head:
Fuel pump relay
Fuel pump
Crank position sensor
Low fuel

How often have you used it since you last filled with fuel.

Bad fuel maybe?
Mouse living in your Maf?

Edit, thinking more. Whenever I forget to reconnect the Maf after messing about around there I get a similar symptom you describe. Check those connections.

Is there a way to physically check the Maf is operating? I guess it would throw a code at the least.

Assuming it's cranking but not starting, the standard next diagnostic steps are to make sure you have fuel and spark.

Thank you guys. Got enough fuel over 1/2. Its very technical to describe but when I turned the key, it fires up, I see the smoke from tail pipe, but it hesitate to continue then dies. Last month when I used it, all went well except that I have not started the LR for a while about a month.
Can a weak battery cause it?
I bought a new battery last mid September.

Exactly, it fires up and then shut off immediately. I think it fires up since I see smoke from tail pipe while it cranks. Any diagnosis that I can do?
