Default Won't Crank, Passive Immobilization...Any Tricks?

Fault Code 1668. Passive Immobilization. Anyone got the trick to fix this. I can't run through the resolution process because my Anti-Theft alarm LED isn't flashing at all.

Is your battery charged? Are your hazards flashing? Did you push the inertia switch a few times?

By the way, we just dropped the engine in. And yes, battery is charged, when we connected the battery all the lights blinked until we pressed the inertia switch. Pretty much got in, and tried to crank it. it turns over but no start

Checked fuel pressure? My understanding is that it won't crank if the alarm system has it immobilized...

...can you arm and then disarm the alarm?

Also, have you tried resetting it by locking and unlocking the door with the key 3 times?

.....only thing I know of is to replace the BCU. that sucks... i would wait for Tom and Mike to chime in but i think it might end up in someones hands with a t4.

Default Fault Code 1668 - Fix for me

Sorry to revise this old thread, but I hope I can provide information to help people who are getting the passive immobilization code (Fault Code 1668) like I did after my truck refused to start. Based on my review of the technical bulletin around this code, I thought it was a Body Control Unit issue that required either replacement or reprogramming of the unit. After towing the car to my mechanic, I found out that the issue was not the BCU, but the starter motor. Replacing the starter motor fixed the problem.

That is not to say that the starter motor is the only answer to this code. For all I know there is a less expensive solution. Or it may be the BCU after all for some. Either way, am hoping to contribute info on possible solutions.
