immobilization problem
I have a Range Rover 2000 HSE. Couple days ago the car wouldn't start after being parked all day.
After towing it to the dealer the problem ended up being an immobilization issue.
The dealer had to reprogram the immobilization device because somehow it lost its data. It cost me
$217, but I feel that it should've been a free repair because I believe
it is a design flaw. It wasn't clearly explained to me how this could have
happened, but supposedly the car was close to something which caused the
data to be erased.
I am curious to know if this ever happened to anyone reading this forum
and whether you had to pay to fix it.
Thanks,
-mo

Happened to me just a few weeks back
Turned out to be the frequency of a mobile phone mast in a car park that I had been in.
The breakdown guy says it happens all the time to RR and simply pushed the car out of sight of the mast and it started !
Unbelievable
