Started a couple of weeks ago. Truck started real weak and even had to jump it off one day. Yesterday wouldn't start. Check the battery and it was good. Pulled the starter and had it checked. It was bad. So new starter is in. Try to start it and chatters when I turned the key. Tried again and all the dash lights went out like the battery was dead. Battery had 12.5 volts. So I jumped it off and still the starter just chatters. Any ideas? Even had the new starter checked and it was good.

 

Sounds like bad battery cables or a bad ground.

 

x2 bad ground.

 

Thanks for the help guys. I took the cables off and cleaned them really good and that seems to have fixed it. Battery connections looked real good. Cleaned them again anyway and it started. Can't believe that something that simple was the problem.
