Default Won't Start, All light gauges came on

The other day, my disco II stopped starting. It just clicks once when I turn the key, it then fires right up the next turn. Next thing I know I pull into my office and my dashboard lights up. Now my disco won't turn over at all. Anybody had this problem? Thanks for the help.

Sounds like your starter went bad. Get under there with a voltmeter and have someone turn the key while you check voltage from ground to the top of your starter solonoid. If you get 12v when the key is turned then I would say your starter is bad. I just went through this and diagnosed it correctly this way and replaced it.

I just talked to the shop ( not dealer). Their diagnostic machine couldn't pull any codes from the computer. Would there be something wrong with my anti-theft device? Looking for different angles of attack.

If the check engine light is NOT on then there are no trouble codes and therefore they cannot pull any codes.
The starter is not connected to the ECU, so when it goes bad it will not throw any trouble codes.
It sounds like the starter is bad. Have them check the starter.

I just got off the phone with the shop. The computer is not allowing them access at all, it won't connect. They said their was not power even running to the starter. I talked to the service guy at a dealer and he thinks that there is a loose connection somewhere. Does this sound right? Now you know all that I know.
