Spike I think the best thing to say on gas mileage is disco's are VERY independent with gas mileage. I would say 10 to 20mpg is a safe estimate for almost all discos!!!! I get about 13 and honestly don't see a difference if it is city or highway (although the city speed limits are all 45 out here and I drive about 60 on them)

Yes Rover Chris I think you are right, MPG is all relative.*

I agree I have never had to put as much into any vehicle I have ever owned, however it is by far the best! It always needs something and I must say if I couldn't do all the work myself it may not be the right truck for my budget but as long as all I am paying for is A LOT of fuel and parts I enjoy having her take me where I need to go.

Parts for Rovers are as expensive as Toyota or Nissan parts. I bought my truck last September for 1K$ CDN, as a project. I spent 1500$ CDN on it, still need to spend some money on it. But in the long run I have a good running Disco with very low miles for 3K$ CDN. Which is definitely not bad. X2 on keeping the truck until I die! It also pi$$es off my brother that my stock truck is as good off-road as his modified YJ..... hahahahaha
