Default Xenon/HD bulbs for 2000 Discovery II

Has anyone experienced improved lighting with HD or Xenon bulbs on a Discovery II (2000)?
I find my current bulbs lacking and want to prepare for the coming winter in Canada. This will be my first winter with the Discovery.
Is it worth the investment or are the new bulbs more hype than reality?

I replaced a bad bulb recently, so it is at maximum strength.

Go order 2 Hella 85/100watt bulbs from John at Expedition Exchange, they are abot $13 a piece if I remember right and nearly twice the power of the factory bulbs.
I have them, I also have $2000 worth of HID's which I love for off road night runs, but they are so brite that I blind the guys I am with. By the way, they are effective for 1/2 mile, so you won't miss your turn.

Another options is to fit something with a higher output without a higher wattage. They're not cheap though but cheaper than going HID and safer than putting 200W of load on a harness intended for 110W. I have a set of 4 on the way and will post a review of them as soon as I've tried them out. Didn't go nuts with HID aux either but put on two 100W Ralleye4000's from Hella and they're a nice addition without breaking the bank.

I have run the 85/100 Hellas for 4 years, burned one out and have inspected the wire harness twice finding no damage being caused.
