Thx guys!
Yep, I know exactly what you mean. Terrible design. The tabs for the switch AND the plastic pins for the cover plate. The pins are metal on the wood veneer trim and plastic on the plastic trim. For the pins, I think the best bet is to get some correct diameter brass rod from local hobby store and cut some lengths and round one end. Then carefully drill out a hole where the pin was (Not all the way through obviously) trying to stay centered in the plastic 'X', and epoxy in the new metal pins rounded ends pointing out.
For the bottom tabs, some aluminum or steel sheet cut to the tab design and fixedly attached to the console. The attach screws or rivets can be hidden flush below the rubber mat. For the top tabs, same idea but fixed to console bucket box....
I will put the gauge retainer on thingiverse, free for all (except for the **** who likes to sell my designs on ebay!):

If you happen to be missing the sides of the OEM retainer, best bet is to get some ABS sheet off amazon and devcon plastic weld up a new one

Headlight refresh: Turtle wax headlight restore product. If your lens is pitted and cloudy, clean w/soap and water first, then go straight to the four pad scrub and lube followed by buff compound. Pad one through 4 over and over as needed... Then use the two sealed napkin products. If your headlight is not pitted, just use the sealed napkin products. Just enough of the napkin product to do two headlights. More than enough buffer lube and 'soft scrub' product in 2 bottles. 12$
B4 (not just dust and dirt, plenty of micro-pits and faded areas)
B after (dry 24 hours)

poor design on these 03 04 lights. These side retainers are almost always broken. 3D print of new part. Devcon 2 part plastic welder to fix in place. Disco 2 in shop getting rotors, pads, radius arms, bushings, calipers, alignment and hopefully, repair of bank 1/2 rich lean codes.
in case anyone needs the bracket or screws:
bracket: ABU700420
bracket screw: XYP000180
Top m6x12 screws: XYP000170

Back from the shop: All new intake gaskets, new rotors, calipers, pads, radius arms, dust shields, bushings, all fluids changed, trans filter kit, bolts, balance, alignment, etc, etc....
I bought most of the parts for less than shop cost. Had the shop do the install.
I thought the degree correction in the new front radius arms would provide a more on center steering return, but they are better than what I had. Probably going to add an RTC damper....
No more codes, side to side swaying, smooth idle, runs great, and actually wants to stop now !

It looks like Adrenalin4X4 in The UK makes HD rear castor corrected radius arms in 3 and 6 degree.
I didn't check their site but in the ebay listings it's noted to contact them 1st for shipping outside of The UK.
