I'm pretty sure I am an idiot that has a bunch of cars to try my s#*t out on, so I get lucky sometimes. To prove how lame I am, it took me 10 hours to do my timing cover refresh (Chain, Gears, Pump, etc.). Local tech told he does it in 2 hours and they charge 4.6 hours for the labor.

Glad you are not locked out.

Question: Was setting off the alarm and then using the unlock button the trick? Need to know for the next person.

I didn't even let the alarm trigger I just used the key fob to unlock it. The alarm light was still flashing but no alarm. Thank you again! I make vinyl graphics so I owe ya!

Pardon the curiosity; since you bought the disco, did that key ever moved the door lock before ?
Does that key work fine for the ignition ?

Glad you got it fixed, but you might also want to look in to getting the door lock mechanism freed up. May come a time when you really need it, like the past few days.
Then use the key to unlock it once or twice a week to keep it working.

So, that leak. Are you monitoring your temperatures with anything to keep an eye on any over heating?

That would be the next thing to get under control.

Glad you got into the car again.

You should buy an ultragauge so you can monitor real time temps. The dash temp gauge will not go past the middle until like 230 degrees and by that time you are SOL. We have 3 disco daily drivers and all of them have ultra gauges in them. Its around $70, you CAN"T afford to not buy one. Also reads and clears engine codes. Buy one tonight online, the best insurance you can buy. Overheat your disco and you are looking at a head gasket job, minimum $500 if you do it, minimum $1500 at a garage.
