yet another hdc/tc/abs warning lights question
trust me I've went thru all posts concerning the "three amigos" issue (who came up with that name anyways?) and I have not found an answer to this specific question unless I missed it: when these damn warning lights are activated does it then mean all related systems are inoperative? An independent LR mechanic said yes to this question but then Disco Mike told me over the phone to test my ABS system by braking over loose gravel while thethree amigosareplaying with my mindand what do you know-my ABS system still works. Does this then indicate that one or more of the ABS wheel sensors is hyperactive and that it is not a more involved problem, such as a bad ABS control unit? Also, what about the TC and Hill Descent Control systems- are they poss. still working as the warning lights are on?
Also to mention the problem seems to occur totally at random. I can stop the D2, shut off the engine then restart and presto- they go away for a little while until the three amigos ride again.

Thanks Mike. How much should the speed sensors and replacement cost per wheel? Also, how about the HDC and especially the TC systems- are they also fine like the ABS system when the warning lights are on or are they rendered inoperable, like my mechanic had suggested? I don't want to drive down icy roads this winter worried about the lack of Traction Control.
You can go to an indy rover shop and have the abs codes read. That will tell you which sensor is malfunctioning. That wheel may not have abs, may not work on TC and HDC. The other functioning sensors should be ok. I think the sensors are about $130 a piece from Atlantic British.
