Exclamation Is this your drive shaft?

I just want to re-state something that Disco-mike, et al are always asking new disco owners.

CHECK YOUR FRONT DRIVE SHAFTS!!!!

Just to back this sentiment up, here are some pix.

This is mine, I got lucky. It didn't come totally apart while I was in motion, so all I have to do is replace a driveshaft. Had it come apart, it would have cost me a lot more $.\

On a side note, anyone know a good place to get a good deal on a new front drive-shaft?

I got mine from Tom Woods and rebuild my old one as a spare (you never know). From here it looks like you've only broken the grease caps - it looks repairable. take it to a driveline shop and have them do it + balance if you can't get a TW. They'll also be able to tell you if it is repairable, or cheaper still do it yourself with parts from napa, don't forget the centering ball kit. Don't know your situation, just layin out some optiions.

Default Tom woods

I am seriously thinking about dropping the $ and getting a tom woods. Just out of curiosity, how much $ did it set you back. They don't list prices on their website.

I think it's a total loss, but I might just take your advice and drop by a drive-line shop for a 2nd (more experienced) opinion.

If there's no damage to the yokes, then you can just rebuild it.

This affects ALL DII's and P-38 Range Rovers.
So you are fine, just make sure you grease all your grease fittings at EVERY oil change and your fine.
